General Questions
What exactly is Paint & Paws for the Cause?
We are a mobile art studio that combines the joy of painting with the recreational therapeutic presence of our gentle Yorkies. Our goal is to host meaningful events that nourish the soul while supporting important charitable causes with every brushstroke.
What can I expect during a typical session?
Expect a relaxed, cozy atmosphere! You will be guided through a drawing and painting step-by-step, then after or before our sweet recreational therapy pups roam around to offer snuggles and relief. It is a one-of-a-kind experience for the heart and mind.
Do I need any prior art experience to participate?
Absolutely not! Our sessions are crafted for everyone, from first-timers to seasoned creators. Lina, our resident artist, provides step-by-step guidance so you can focus on having fun creating and connecting with the dogs.
Tickets, Guests & Attire
What is included with my General ticket?
Every ticket covers all of your art supplies—canvas, paints, and brushes—along with guidance from a professional artist. Most importantly, you get quality time with our Yorkie therapy dogs while supporting a meaningful cause!
How do we book a private event?
We love celebrations! Private sessions are perfect for birthdays or team bonding. Simply reach out via our contact form or text us, and we’ll help you coordinate a paws-itive experience at your preferred location.
Can I get a refund if I can't make it?
We understand that schedules can change. We offer rescheduling, if slots are open. For later changes, we’re happy to provide a credit for any future class session.
Is there an age limit for classes?
We offer classes for all ages and welcome a wide range of participants. While some sessions are designed with specific age groups in mind, particularly those that include alcoholic beverages or more advanced artistic focus, appropriate age requirements will be enforced for those experiences. Youth-friendly classes are available, and younger artists are warmly welcomed when accompanied by a supervising adult. We encourage families to participate together and value creating a shared, creative experience for all.
We suggest wearing something comfortable that you don’t mind getting a little paint on! We provide aprons, but creativity can be messy. Flat, closed-toe shoes and pants are recommended for safely interacting with the dogs. Please bring a yoga mat, if interested in sitting on the ground with pups. Chairs and tables will be provided in painting area only.
What should I wear and bring ?
Can I bring a non-painting guest?
To ensure a calm environment for our recreational therapy dogs and to respect our limited space, all attendees must have a ticket. This keeps the experience intimate and focused for everyone—paws included!
Dogs & Safety
Are the dogs safe to be around during the class?
Absolutely! Our Yorkies are certified recreational therapy dogs, specifically trained to be gentle, calm, and loving companions. They are part of our family first and foremost, and their well-being is always our top priority alongside yours.
What if I have dog allergies?
Great news—Yorkies are hypoallergenic! Because they have hair instead of fur, they produce very little dander and do not shed. Most participants with allergies find they can breathe easy and craft comfortably throughout the session.
Can I bring my own furry friend?
To ensure the safety and focus of our recreational therapy dogs, we kindly ask that you leave your personal pets at home. Our pups are the resident stars of the show and are ready to provide all the puppy love you need! We do encourage you to bring a photograph of your loving pet for inspiration.
Sips & Snacks
Can I bring my own snacks and drinks?
We kindly ask that guests refrain from bringing outside food and beverages. To enhance your experience, we offer thoughtfully curated meal deals and a selection of drinks available for pre-sale as well as onsite purchase.
Are alcoholic drinks allowed during the session?
Wine and select spirits are available as part of the experience; however, all alcoholic beverages must be purchased in advance through our online presale. To ensure a smooth and responsible service, alcohol will not be available for purchase onsite.
Our Mission & Impact
How does my participation help local and national charitable causes? We believe in art with a purpose. Every Paint & Paws session contributes directly to our mission of supporting local unhoused neighbors and national justice initiatives for the displaced. More than 15% of your booking fee goes towards local and national nonprofits. Your creativity helps us paint a brighter future for dogs and humans alike.
